Portfolio Performance Dashboard
Portfolio Performance Dashboard is a specialized visualization tool designed to transform raw trade data into actionable investment insights.
Key Features
- Asset Cost (Pie Chart): Visualizes your initial capital outlay using the CostBasisMoney field.
- Position Value (Pie Chart): Displays the current market weight of your holdings.
- FifoPnlUnrealized (Stacked Bar Chart): A horizontal performance map that identifies positions performance based on FIFO (First-In, First-Out) accounting.
- All fields are FXRateToBase adjusted.
Open Positions
| Field Key | Description |
|---|---|
| CostBasisMoney | This field represents your capital outlay. The spreadsheet uses this to populate the Asset Cost (Pie Chart), allowing you to see where your principal is tied up. It is calculated by multiplying the quantity and the cost price. |
| Description | Provides the human-readable description of the open position (e.g., Apple Inc.). This acts as the primary label for all charts, ensuring you can identify which ticker is driving your gains or losses. |
| FifoPnlUnrealized | This is the engine for your performance map. By identifying positions' performance based on FIFO (First-In, First-Out) accounting, the dashboard visualizes your "paper" gains or losses. This unrealized P/L is found by subtracting the cost basis from the value. |
| FXRateToBase | To ensure a "like-for-like" comparison in your base currency, the spreadsheet applies this conversion rate from asset currency to base currency. This allows the dashboard to adjust all global holdings into a single, unified currency view. |
| LevelOfDetail | The template use this field to filter the data for LOTS only. This ensures the spreadsheet ignores high-level account summaries and only imports the granular, trade-specific data needed for accurate reporting. |
| PositionValue | This represents the current market weight of your holdings. Used in the Position Value (Pie Chart), it shows what your stocks are worth (calculated by multiplying the quantity and the close price). |
| ReportDate | The date of the statement. This ensures your dashboard is displaying a "snapshot" in time, letting you know exactly how fresh your data is after the last sync from your broker. |
