Add-on Walkthrough
Welcome to the Trades to Sheets Google Add-On! This guide will walk you through setting up and using our powerful spreadsheet integration to manage your stock portfolio records effortlessly.
1. Getting Started & Authentication To use the Google Add-On, you must first link your account through our web portal.
- Login: Open the Add-On sidebar in Google Sheets and log in using your Trades to Sheets credentials.
- Setup Guide: If you need help with the initial configuration, please refer to our Setup Documentation.
2. The Main Interface The sidebar is your command center. At the top of the interface, you will find the following controls:
- Last Update: Displays the timestamp of when IBKR generated the latest report.
- Refresh Button: Click this to manually fetch and update your data.
- Settings: Access your cache and transparency tools.
- Logout: Signs you out of your account and immediately clears all data from the Add-On.
Below the control bar is the Function Reference Guide. This is a handy, built-in reference that shows you all the customized "Trades to Sheets" functions available for your spreadsheets.
3. Settings & Data Transparency We believe in total transparency. In the Settings Interface, you have complete control over your information:
- Encrypted Cache: Click this to observe your raw data directly.
- Total Control: You can manually clear out all cached data at any time.
- Privacy First: To prove we don't store your data on our servers, all information is kept as an encrypted cache solely within your Add-On environment.
Note: Once you clear the cache, your plugin functions will stop working until you re-sync. You are always in control of your data.
4. Personalized Function Reference Guide Clicking the Function Reference Guide in the main interface will expand it to provide detailed information about each available function.
- No Manuals Needed: You don’t need to check our online documentation constantly; everything is built-in.
- Personalized Cheatsheet: This guide is generated based on your specific data, giving you a custom reference tailored to your portfolio.
5. Troubleshooting Common Screens
"No Data" Screen
If you encounter a screen showing no data, it simply means the Add-On needs to re-fetch your records.
- Action: Click the Refresh Button to retrieve your data again.
"Not Configured" Screen
If you see a "Not Config" message, it means your setup on the Trades to Sheets web portal is incomplete.
- Action: Complete your configuration in the portal. Once correctly configured, the main interface will appear automatically in your Google Sheet.
