We are excited to share a major milestone in our mission to simplify investment data. The Trades to Sheets Google Sheets Add-on has been submitted to Google for review and will be launching in the Workspace Marketplace very soon!
Bridging the Gap Between Journaling and Analysis
Since our launch, the core Trades to Sheets service has focused on the "Automated Sync"—helping you pull trade records from Interactive Brokers (IBKR) into your spreadsheets. This remains the gold standard for long-term journaling, tax preparation, and historical bookkeeping.
However, we realized that active traders need more than just history; they need immediate portfolio snapshots. While a background sync is perfect for records, an Add-on is far superior for high-speed portfolio analysis.
By bringing the "OpenPositions" data directly into your spreadsheet sidebar, we are making it faster and easier than ever to see exactly where you stand across all your positions.
Introducing Custom Spreadsheet Functions
The true power of this Add-on lies in its simplicity. We are moving away from complex data parsing and manual data mapping. In this initial release, you can retrieve your entire portfolio listing using one single, elegant formula:
=T2S_OpenPositions_LIST_ALL_SYMBOLS()
This is just the foundation. We are already working on integrating more IBKR tables and expanding our library of custom functions to help you build the ultimate trading dashboard.
Your Data, Your Environment, Your Security
At "Trades to Sheets", our guiding principle is that we do not store your financial data. Even with these new features, your sensitive information never touches our servers. The Add-on operates entirely within your own Google environment.
Main Section: The Native Experience
The new Add-on allows you to stay in your flow. Instead of switching between the IBKR Client Portal and your spreadsheet, you can now pull account snapshots with a single click. Whether you are rebalancing a portfolio or checking your current margin requirements, the data is delivered exactly where you need it—no coding, no scripts, and no "black box" logic.
